Sex Pistols by Thom Lukas
Winterland, San Francisco, 1978.
“The Sex Pistols’ final show of their original run took place on January 14, 1978, at Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. This performance marked the end of the band’s tumultuous U.S. tour, and it would be their last show with the classic lineup until they reunited years later. Famously disillusioned by this point, frontman Johnny Rotten ended the concert with the iconic line: “Ever get the feeling you’ve been cheated?” — a statement that encapsulated his frustration with the band’s direction and management. This concert became legendary in punk rock history, symbolizing the abrupt end of one of the most influential and controversial bands of the era.”
