Why Music Photography?

Oak Island Gallery is your gateway to rare, vintage photography capturing iconic moments in music and pop culture history. From the raw energy of live performances to intimate, behind-the-scenes glimpses of legends, our collection offers a unique window into the heart of rock ‘n’ roll.

Founded by siblings Jesper and Nella Hurtig, the gallery connects collectors with authentic works from Swedish and international photographers who were there to document these important moments. When you invest in our photography, you’re not only preserving music’s legacy but also supporting the photographers and ensuring the sustainability of this vibrant art form.

- Thank you for your support, Jesper and Nella
Jesper HURTIG
Jesper is the co-founder, visionary and driving force behind Oak Island Gallery. With a background in film production and a lifelong passion for cinema, which he began analyzing with a critical and creative eye as a teenager, Jesper brings a unique perspective to the world of art. Highly creative in art presentation, he ensures that every exhibition is visually stimulating, never settling for the status quo. His innovative approach keeps the gallery dynamic and engaging, offering a fresh and immersive experience for every visitor.
Nella HURTIG
Nella is the co-founder of Oak Island Gallery, an artist and graphic designer whose deep passion for music is at the core of her creative work. This love for music flows seamlessly into her artistic process, where she collaborates closely with music photographers to prepare negative scans for high-quality prints. Her dedication to both art and music makes her an integral part of the gallery's unique offerings.
Lexi & Bowie
Lexi is a beloved fixture at the Gallery. Spending most of her time mingling with visitors, Lexi’s role is to keep the energy high and the atmosphere fun. Bowie is the newest and sharpest addition to Oak Island Gallery. Bowie was named Head of Operations at only 15 weeks old, and we can only expect overwhelming success with him on board.
